Rules

The Movie Card Game lets you take your movie trivia knowledge to a whole new level. Play actors and actresses on the movie they were in, play movies on the actor or actress that was in the movie, or reset the stage with an action card to give your opponents more actors, actresses, and movies to play.

Use your movie trivia knowledge strategically to make opponents draw more cards. Be the first player with no cards and you win!

Gameplay Rules

2 Player games begin with 11 cards in each player’s hand.

3-4 Players games begin with 7 cards in each player’s hand.

5-6 Players games begin with 5 cards in each player’s hand.

The game begins with Player 1 putting the top card of the deck face up on a discard pile and playing an actor, actress, movie, or action card on this card according to legal play rules of the game.

Note: If the top card of the deck is a Wild card, Player 1 does not draw any cards.

Player 2 then plays an actor or actress in the movie if a movie was played, a movie the actor or actress was in if an actor or actress card was played, an action card, attempt a bluff, or name an unplayed actor or movie to avoid drawing a card.

If a player has no legal play or does not attempt to bluff and a movie card is showing, the player must name an unplayed actor in the movie. If the player cannot, they must draw a card. If an actor card is showing, the player must name an unplayed movie the actor was in. If they cannot, they must draw a card. Cards drawn this way may not be played until the player's next turn.

If the draw deck runs out before a winner is chosen, leave the top card of the discard pile face up and shuffle the discard pile into the draw deck to continue the game until a player wins. The game ends when a player’s hand is empty or one player is left holding cards, whichever is preferred in games with 3 or more players.
